Tools Needed to Stamp Concrete



Stamped concrete is a specialized process that requires specific tools in addition to common concrete finishing tools. Most experienced concrete contactors will already have placement and finishing tools with which they are proficient and comfortable. However, stamped concrete additional tools for this unique application.

First and foremost, concrete stamps and textures are required. These are the polyurethane mats with textures and patterns designed to mimic materials like stone and brick. In addition to the stiffer patterns that are used through the bulk of most projects, most stampers make use of flexible stamps (aka “floppies”) and seamless skins to maximize coverage. Chisels and textured joint rollers are also commonly used to extend patterns and touch up grout lines.
